During warmer months, Lake Bluff hosts an award-winning farmer’s market, block parties, and Sunday night concerts modeled after the nearby Ravinia music festival. Special annual events include Shakespeare in the park, a professional bike race, Ribfest, Ghost Walk, Pumpkin Chase 5K and mile fun run, It’s a Wonderful Life holiday extravaganza, and a 4th of July Parade that attracts famed performance groups from as far as Washington DC.

Lake Bluff’s central business district features a selection of unique shops, restaurants, coffee spots, fitness studios, and salons, as well as a bank, post office, and microbrewery. The quaint downtown area surrounds the Village Green, where the community congregates for special events, and is just across from the Metra North train line to downtown Chicago.

Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty on offer in Lake Bluff, with abundant community parks, a golf course, community beach, and shaded biking/jogging path that runs from the northern tip of town down to the start of the Green Bay Trail, connecting the North Shore all the way to Chicago. With baseball diamonds, tennis and paddle courts, a community pool, new playgrounds, a sledding hill, and an outdoor ice rink, there’s no shortage of ways to enjoy the great outdoors year-round.

Lake Bluff is home to a diverse and inviting selection of residences. These include everything from vintage brick cottages and historic homes with grand front porches to a variety of newer construction properties, which blend in seamlessly with the town’s overall architectural character and appeal.

Families in search of top quality schools will find plenty in Lake Bluff. The newly remodeled public schools are known for small class size and educational excellence, and Lake Bluff shares the services of the award-winning Lake Forest High School district 115.

A stone’s throw from Chicago, the village Lake Bluff exudes a character and charm that is difficult to replicate, making it a wonderful place to call home.
