A unique vision of potential is what Carolyn Dapier brings to the real estate table. With a degree in architectural design, 12 years with a Chicago design firm and 30+ years in real estate, she is well equipped to fulfill all your housing needs and desires.
Carolyn started her career in the 1985 in the #1 selling Winnetka office. She and her family, including her six children, have lived on the North Shore since 1978. During that time, she personally bought, rehabbed and flipped nine properties.
Throughout the course of her career, Carolyn has specialized in relocating transferees, including reorganized companies, newly formed TV affiliates, law firms, futures specialists, and finance corporations. To this end, she has sold, developed and maintained a working knowledge of inventory, school districts and neighborhoods from Chicago’s Gold Coast north to Waukegan, and west, to include Glenview, Northbrook, Libertyville, Long Grove, and Grayslake.
In addition to her work, Carolyn has always been passionate about Affordable Housing and spent 17 years volunteering with PADS of Lake County, a nonprofit serving the homeless. Currently she is a member of the Executive Board of the Fuller Center of Lake County, an organization working to create community stabilization through a special program providing rent-to-own homes in North Chicago.
Above all, Carolyn values the relationships she has built through the real estate industry………..close ties with her colleagues at Griffith, Grant and Lackie, and forging strong connections with her clients, many of whom have grown to be more like family. To Carolyn, helping people and families thrive is what it’s all about.

"Five years ago I found myself in a rather untenable situation. My husband had a major financial disaster, was diagnosed with terminal cancer two days later, and my mother, who lived in the same community, died suddenly. I needed to sell my mother's home as fast as possible to pay her outstanding debts, and I also needed to generate enough money to be able to stay in our own home. I had two income properties that also needed to be sold. I contacted Carolyn whom I knew through church. She immediately contacted one of her numerous colleagues and sold both rental properties in about 10 days. My mother's house was sold in 4 hours. When my husband died, I had to sell my own home and find another as quickly as possible. Carolyn sold my home in 2 days, even though the purchaser was, according to my lawyer, one of the most obnoxious people he had ever had to deal with. I now had one month to find another home. Relentlessly searching the MLS, Carolyn sent me what I estimate to be over 100 listings, trying to find the right place to fit my specific requirements. When I finally asked to see a particular one, it turned out to be perfect and the one I bought. Carolyn and I remain friends, and her extensive knowledge of the North Shore continually amazes me. I could not possibly recommend a more highly qualified realtor."

"Carolyn began working with us after we had been discouraged by a realtor and told that what we were looking for was not within our price range. Tired of seeing homes that were a disaster, we reached out to Yvette Ewing, director of Fuller Center for Housing, who told us she knew a woman who could move mountains. From the minute we met Carolyn, we were impressed by her drive and belief that we would find the right house. She worked with us for over six months, taking us to see numerous homes, navigating us through several contracts, and traipsing through snow and rain with us during our search. Throughout the whole process, Carolyn remained hopeful, positive, and incredibly generous with her time. Not only did Carolyn help land us a house that was way beyond what we had originally been looking for, she kept in touch with us afterward. She is not only an amazing advocate but has become our friend as well. We are so thankful for the opportunity to know and work with someone with so much talent and passion!"

"Carolyn's vast knowledge of the market, coupled with her can-do spirit made her the perfect realtor for us. With her help, we were able to review properties and purchase our house in Highland Park while we were still living in Connecticut. During this time she was also essential in helping us come out on top when a bidding war ensued on the property. In the end, we got the house we always wanted, in the neighborhood, we always wanted all from over 800 miles away. If you need a true North Shore expert to get you the home you want, we highly recommend Carolyn Dapier."
