OPEN MIC NIGHT
JULY 9 & AUGUST 13: 7-8pm at Forest Park Beach (fire circle)
Budding poet? Fledgling comedian? Come share your talent with the Lake Forest community at Open Mic Night at the beach!
MOVIE AT THE BEACH
JULY 13: 8-10pm at Forest Park Beach (Walt Disney’s Frozen)
Okay, okay. I get the irony in playing Frozen given the summer we’ve had to date, but to be fair, the official title of this event is “Movie at the Beach – Christmas Countdown” and it was on the books months ago. Don’t shoot the messenger. And who knows… we may have a heat wave in July and belting out the lyrics to “Let it Go” at the top of your lungs while thinking about life in an ice village will be welcome.
JULY 16 & AUGUST 20: 7-8pm at Forest Park Beach (grass area by North Pavilion)
Developed in Japan in 1971, Karaoke became so synonymous with happiness that it’s creator won a Nobel Peace Prize in 2004 for “providing an entirely new way for people to learn to tolerate each other”(or at least, an Ig Nobel Prize, a parody on the real deal). If you can’t sing, don’t worry. What happens at Karaoke stays at Karaoke (of course, unless it shows up on Facebook).
CONCERTS AT THE BEACH
JULY 17 & AUGUST 7: 6:30-8:30pm at Forest Park Beach
RETRO GAME NIGHT
JULY 23 & AUGUST 27: 7-8pm at Forest Park Beach (grass area by North Pavilion)
Who knew you could scream “Yahtzee!” at the top of your lungs while someone else drives a silver car down the Boardwalk at Lake Forest beach? We did! Monopoly, Yahtzee, Pictionary… who knows what great game might await you at this fun event!
US SAILING UPPER MIDWEST JR OLYMPIC REGATTA
JUNE 29-JULY 1: 9am-5pm at Forest Park Beach
LAKE FOREST SAILING NORTH SHORE CUP
JULY 20: 9am-5pm at Forest Park Beach
CARDBOARD CANOE REGATTA
JULY 28: 8:30am-4pm at Forest Park Beach
The Cardboard Canoe Regatta is our STAFF PICK event of the summer… what could be more fun than building a canoe with nothing but cardboard and duck tape and seeing if it will keep you (and a very nice friend) afloat?!?! Guaranteed to serve up tons of memorable (and hilarious) moments for everyone involved!
ELAWA FARM GARDEN MARKET
MAY 18-OCTOBER 27
FRIDAYS & SATURDAYS: 8am-1pm at Elawa Farm
The Elawa Farm market is a great place to buy garden fresh produce and chat with members of the community. Heirloom tomatoes, anyone?
