The history of Lincolnshire can be traced back to 1955 when it first began as a subdivision. The village was officially incorporated in 1957 and quickly attracted the attention of affluent homeowners, who were drawn to the wooded landscapes, waterfront living, and abundance of open space. Today, the town consists of four neighborhoods and offers everything from condos to single-family homes.

Embark on a fine-dining experience at Wildlife, an upscale American eatery famous for its steaks, chops, and seafood. Since opening in 1999, Wildlife has become a go-to place to celebrate special occasions. For another upscale meal, consider booking a table at Eddie Merlot’s. This high-end restaurant offers prime-aged steaks, seafood, and a lengthy wine list. While traveling internationally might not be in the cards, you can experience authentic Indian flavors at Marigold Maison. Stay and play at the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort, which features an array of leisure activities including a PGA championship golf course and fitness center. The Marriott Theatre is attached to the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort and has been a part of the community since its first opening in 1975. The theater produces an average of five musicals each year and has presented more than 180 productions to 11 million people since opening.

You’ll find a greenhouse, farm stand, pumpkin patch, and Christmas Tree farm, as well as fresh veggies and flowers all spring and summer.
 
Connect with nature at the Edward L. Ryerson Conservation Area. The preservation boasts over six miles of scenic trails that weave through woods to the Des Plaines River. The trails lead past historic buildings, next to the river, and into the dense woodland. The conservation also offers a variety of public programs and field trips, as well as a number of popular annual events throughout the year. For more community events and classes, check out the Vernon Area Public Library. From book clubs to crochet groups, the library offers a wide array of classes for the public.
