As a born and bred Chicagoan, Carolyn has carried out a curiosity crawl of the metropolitan area throughout the course of her life, giving her great familiarity with both city neighborhoods and suburbs from Evanston to Lake Bluff, Glenview to Grayslake. With a degree in architectural design, her first vocation was the owning/running of a Chicago design firm specializing in commercial/office remake and construction management. In the course of rehabbing nine properties (including one apartment building), she segued into the Real Estate world, concentrating on corporate relocation.
With six children, Carolyn has always had a particular affinity for good education, has had kids in both New Trier and Lake Forest High School Districts, and toured the schools in every suburban community she sells. Her passion and avocation centers around children, the underserved communities and the homeless. To that end, Carolyn has served in PADS Lake County Homeless shelters (as well as the Salvation Army Emergency Lodge in Chicago), towards helping to relocate and re-establish independent living for families for 17 years. Currently she serves as the Housing Co-Chair on the Executive Board of the Fuller Center of Lake County (affiliated with Fuller Centers worldwide), where a three-pronged initiative of Housing, Jobs Training, and Wellness (in a “Food Desert”) is the goal for the underserved families of North Chicago, Waukegan and Lake County.
